condor airplane on grey concrete airport

A tragic incident has occurred at an airport in America. American authorities have reported that a passenger on a flight at Texas Airport died after getting stuck in the plane’s engine.

In fact, a Delta flight arrived at San Antonio, Texas, from Los Angeles on Friday night, and it was parked near the gate with one engine running. At that moment, an employee got too close to the engine and was pulled into it.

The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) is investigating the incident. According to local media, the employee was hired by Unifi Aviation, a ground crew management contractor for the airline.

Delta informed San Antonio broadcaster KENS 5 that the company is saddened by the incident that occurred on Friday night and is cooperating with officials in the investigation. The company stated that their initial investigation has revealed that the incident is related to Unifi’s operational processes, security procedures, and policies.

It should be noted that last year, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), another regulatory agency, imposed a fine of $15,625 for the death of a ground crew worker in a similar incident on Piedmont Airlines, a regional carrier in the United States.
