Anant Maheshwari, the President of Microsoft India, has decided to step down from his position in order to pursue new opportunities. This development comes as part of a broader executive restructuring at Microsoft. The former head of Amazon Web Services (AWS) India, Puneet Chandok, is expected to join Microsoft India in the near future. Meanwhile, Irina Ghose, Microsoft’s Chief Operating Officer, has been appointed as the new Managing Director of India. Maheshwari brings a wealth of experience, having previously served as President at Honeywell India and held various roles at McKinsey & Company. He is an alumnus of prestigious institutions such as the Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS) and the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Ahmedabad. Notably, Maheshwari has also been appointed as the chairperson of Nasscom, the leading trade body for the IT industry.

Maheshwari joined Microsoft in 2016, bringing with him extensive experience from his previous roles at Honeywell and McKinsey & Company. In light of Maheshwari’s departure, Microsoft has appointed Irina Ghose as the new Managing Director of India. As part of the reorganization, Sashi Sreedharan, the current Managing Director, has been promoted to a more senior position within the company.
